Stygian: Outer Gods is leaving early access just in time for Halloween. Publisher Fulqrum Publishing and developer Misterial Games have announced the full release for October 26, 2026, on Steam and GOG, finishing the journey the game began in April 2025.
The 1.0 version adds the full story alongside a new chapter, puzzles, artefacts, weapons, enemies, and boss encounters that weren’t in the early access build. Set in the universe of Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, the game takes place in the lead-up to the Black Day.
You play Jack Harrison, who joins an expedition to the fog-shrouded settlement of Kingsport in the hope of finding his missing father. He is promptly shipwrecked and comes face to face with nightmares that have haunted the town for centuries.
Survival horror where your sanity counts too
Kingsport was once a prosperous harbour town and is now decrepit and almost abandoned. You’ll explore its desolate streets, a mysterious family mansion, abandoned mines, fog-covered forests and otherworldly realms. Survival means managing scarce resources and crafting items and remedies, while mental afflictions can change how the game plays. Character progression lets you build your abilities in different ways, and the developers say decisions can have irreversible consequences, with branching outcomes and multiple paths through the story.
How it did in early access
Early access reception was positive, if not glowing. The game currently sits at “Mostly Positive” on Steam, with 79% of 517 user reviews recommending it.
Price and extras
Stygian: Outer Gods costs $24.99, with a 20% launch discount. Three optional extras are available alongside it:
- Official Digital Artbook: nearly 200 pages of artwork inspired by the game’s Lovecraftian universe
- Official Soundtrack: the game’s score, for listening outside the game
- The Heretic’s Arsenal Pack: a mysterious artefact and two melee weapons
There’s also a Deluxe Edition Bundle that includes everything, with a 10% discount.
