The recent League of Legends patches leading up to Worlds 2023 have been relatively minor in terms of changes. Riot deliberately chose to avoid making significant adjustments to prevent a major shift in the meta just before the start of Worlds 2023, which was the case with Patch 13.19. However, things are about to take a different turn.
Riot's Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends, Riot Phroxzon, has recently unveiled a preview of the upcoming patch. It appears that this patch is going to be substantial.
In the upcoming patch, players can expect a new set of changes for the jungle, along with significant buffs to Starting and Support items. Furthermore, Dragons are in for some major alterations. On the flip side, formidable champions like Bel’Veth, Kai’Sa, and Zed will be facing nerfs as well. This patch is poised to bring about substantial alterations to the League of Legends landscape.
Champion Nerfs
- Akshan and Quinn: Nerfs due to their dominance in the top lane, focusing on their range and early-game strength.
- Bel’Veth: Early-game power and snowball potential reduced, with late-game strength increased.
- Kai’Sa: Adjustments to tone down her power level, especially in elite-level play.
- Quinn: Significant reductions in base health, attack damage growth, and movement speed.
- Zed: Cooldown adjustments for his Living Shadow ability due to interactions with Ravenous Hydra.
System Nerfs
- Duskblade of Draktharr: Nerfs to address its continued strength despite previous adjustments.
These nerfs are set to shake up the League of Legends meta and provide players with new challenges and strategic opportunities when Patch 13.20 arrives on October 11, 2023.
