The preseason in League of Legends is marked by transformative changes that reshape the entire gameplay experience. Riot Games consistently introduces fresh mechanics, items, champion adjustments, and more during this period. It's a time when players can experiment, have fun, and explore the game's evolving landscape without the weight of ranked competition.
In the previous preseason, we witnessed the introduction of new items like Spear of Shojin, Jak’Sho: The Protean, and Radiant Virtue. Additionally, several existing items underwent significant reworks, including Ravenous Hydra, Sunfire Aegis, and Turbo Chemtank.
This year, the upcoming item changes promise to be more profound than ever. Notably, the mythic item system is being removed, leading to extensive reworks of many items to fit into the legendary category. Some legendary items are also being adjusted to stay relevant in the ever-changing meta, while a few items will be removed entirely.
League of Legends New Item: "Go Fast With Friends"
"Go Fast With Friends" is set to be a game-changer for support tanks. This item will grant bonus movement speed as you move, extending the same bonus to any allies who follow in your wake.
Additionally, it will feature a stacking mechanic akin to Dead Man's Plate, with an interesting twist: attacking an enemy at max stacks will apply a slowing effect.
Exploring Theme Options
As "Go Fast With Friends" is still in development, Riot Games has yet to settle on a theme for this item. To involve the community in this creative process, players are now invited to cast their votes for their preferred theme.
The winning theme will be incorporated into the preseason. Here are the theme options:
- Eerie Invitation: This theme draws inspiration from the Shadow Isles, featuring VFX centered around Hollowed Mists.
- Trailblazer: Taking cues from the recent addition of Nazumah to Runeterra, this theme's icon is a backpack, and its VFX reflects the golden sands reminiscent of Shurima.
- Scout's Fanfare: Representing Bandle City, this theme is music-oriented, with both the icon and VFX featuring musical notes.
How to Cast Your Vote
Participating in the vote for the theme of the upcoming support tank item is a straightforward process:
- Open your League of Legends Client.
- Navigate to your Overview Tab.
- Cast your vote for your preferred theme.
- Confirm your selection.
Please note that the voting window is limited, running from Monday, October 2, 11:00 AM PT, to Friday, October 6, 5:00 PM PT. Make sure to cast your votes promptly to have your say in shaping the future of League of Legends items.
