NCSoft announced another version of Lineage 2, this time focusing on solo play and streamlining the combat system.
Lineage 2 already has two versions - the regular one and Classic, the latter of which has a more complex combat system and levelling is progressing at a snail's pace. There is also less emphasis on grouping up in the modern version and it appears that NCSoft wants to see if players would respond well to grouping even less.
When Lineage 2: Aden launches on August 11, 2021, it will feature a streamlined combat system on top of being aimed at solo players. That said, group hunting and raids will still require some social interaction.
Anyway, the solo-friendly gameplay basically means all 36 classes were tuned to be self-sufficient during hunting. On top of that, there will be six solo dungeons at launch of Aden and the levelling system will be simplified so you can reach the max level much faster than before.
Sylph Storm Blasters and Death Knights will the two new classes, the latter of which draws inspiration from a raid boss in the original Lineage. Meanwhile, the Storm Blasters will channel the power of spirits through their guns and therefore rely on staying at range while the DKs duke it out in close quarters while also employing magic.
