Volibear is one of the two champions chosen by players in 2019 to receive a complete rework, alongside Fiddlesticks. The latter was released and now Riot noted that the new bear is around a month away.
Riot Games updated the fans on their plans for League of Legends in 2020 and one of the main takeaways was that they are going to rework Volibear in May 2020. In the words of Jessica "Safelocked" Nam, "following the [Riot's] recent update of Fiddlesticks will be the Volibear update coming next month".
Considering the video was released on 24 April 2020, this probably means we are mere weeks away from getting the new Volibear. Unless unforeseen issues arise, we will need to wait either 19 or 34 days, depending on whether the VGU arrives in 10.10 or 10.11. The first patch is set for 13 May 2020 while the second one is supposed to arrive on Thursday, 28 May 2020.
Following the Volibear VGU, Riot Games will focus on releasing new champions. This includes two teases from the previously released champion roadmap. One of them is some sort of a whimsical jungler, which we hope will not vex the players as much as Zoe's "whimsical" nature.
The second champion is the melee carry that "refuses to die". Many still speculate that this is Yasuo's thought-to-be-dead brother, Yone , but Riot didn't officially confirm this theory yet.
Nam also thought about other changes and improvements coming to League, including events, game modes, clash, TFT, champion skins and more, all of which you can check out on the embedded video.
