League of Legends Patch 25.18 is almost live. As usual, this update packs a bunch of balance changes, system updates, and the highly-anticipated T1 2024 Worlds skins. The World Championship is less than two patches away with Patch 25.20, so Riot Games is beginning to make sweeping changes to have a strong and balanced meta for the year’s biggest event.
Champions taking nerfs this patch include big two picks from the Rift following their Patch 25.16 buffs, Sylas and Qiyana. As always, a slew of long-meta champions are also being nerfed, this time on Annie, Azir, Galio, and Aurora. A counterbalance of buffs are also in the works for Amumu, Ashe, Garen, and Jayce.
In addition to champion updates, this patch also has a number of underperforming items getting buffs, with Sunfire Cape and Bami’s Cinder topping the list. As always, the most exciting addition is the brand new T1 Worlds skin line for Patch 25.18, including a Prestige version for Faker’s Sylas. Let’s get into what’s included in Patch 25.18.
When Will Patch 25.18 Be Released?
League of Legends Patch 25.18 is scheduled for release on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Release Time and Server Maintenance:
- North America: 3:00 AM PT
- Europe West: 5:00 AM UK Time
- Europe Nordic & East: 3:00 AM CET
Patch 25.18 Champion Changes Champion Buffs
Several champions are being buffed to improve their presence on Summoner’s Rift:
- Amumu – Q cooldown decreased, mana cost reduced.
- Ashe – Attack damage growth increased.
- Garen – Bonus movement speed and spin AD ratio improved.
- Jayce, Cassiopeia, Hwei, Vel’Koz – Receiving smaller but meaningful buffs.
Champion Nerfs
Dominant meta champions are being scaled back:
- Sylas and Qiyana – Reverts to some of their Patch 25.16 buffs.
- Annie, Aurora, Azir, Galio, Taliyah, Volibear, Yunara – All see power reductions.
Champion Adjustments
- Briar – Q now deals physical damage, R has a new global warning and missile range buff.
- Illaoi – Changes to her W and E make her tentacle interactions smoother.
Patch 25.18 System Changes System Buffs
- Bami’s Cinder & Sunfire Cape – Buffed after being underwhelming in past patches.
- Mercurial Scimitar – Attack damage increased to 50 (from 40), Quicksilver active speed buff extended.

Final Thoughts
League of Legends Patch 25.18 is certainly a patch players can get excited about going into Worlds 2020. It is completely themed around the World Championship, complete with a ton of balance changes and cosmetic content.
