Riot Games revealed new prices for all the champions which also means a whole lot less Blue Essence spent unlocking them.
League of Legends has grown on a massive scale since the initial release in 2009. Initially, the humble roster included 17 champions - Alistar, Annie, Ashe, Fiddlesticks, Jax, Kayle, Master Yi, Morgana, Nunu, Ryze, Sion, Sivir, Soraka, Teemo, Tristana, Twisted Fate and Warwick.
At the time of writing, it grew to 162, meaning the new players would have to do a whole lot of unlocking to get the full roster.
Riot Games came up with a bandaid solution for completionists that involved a significant decrease in total champion cost, standing at 123,506 Blue Essence. The new champion costs are displayed in the table below.

New champions will still cost 7300 Blue Essence for the first week.
Interestingly enough, some of the newer champions, like Yuumi are going straight to the first tier that costs just 450 Blue Essence to unlock, owing to the simplicity of the champion.
Overall, the new pricing scheme should be much more welcoming for the new players, even though it only takes a handful of unlocks to have a competitive roster on your hands.
