It has been reported that details of the ability tooltips and the visual effects (VFX) of the highly-anticipated "Aurelion Sol" rework have been leaked. The leaks have given fans a glimpse of what to expect from the new skin!
Riot Games announced last year that they were working on a new type of rework called the Comprehensive Gameplay Update (CGU). The CGU is a rework where a champion's abilities are overhauled, but the champion's visual appearance remains the same. The first champion to receive the CGU treatment was announced to be Aurelion Sol.
Later on, Riot Games revealed more information about the new Aurelion Sol. Although they did not reveal much, they did show off the new abilities of his Q and W. Additionally, they mentioned that the new Aurelion Sol would have a stronger emphasis on being a "star forger" rather than a dragon.
Riot Games had initially announced a rough release date for the Aurelion Sol CGU, which was supposed to be in patch 13.3. However, the release date got delayed due to a large-scale cyber attack on Riot. The company did not reveal a new release date, but they did share more information about the CGU rework of Aurelion Sol.
Aurelion Sol abilities
Riot Games plans to make Aurelion Sol a scaling champion, his new gameplay will revolve around collecting stardust. ASol can damage enemies, causing them to drop stardust, collecting it will empower his abilities permanently.
His stats are weaker in the early game but with enough stardust and the right build, he can become a powerful late-game threat. For example, his Q ability has a limited duration of 3.25 seconds at the early level, but it becomes infinite at max level and with high damage. It is similar to Malzahar's ultimate.
Aurelion Sol Skin VFX update
Riot Games have revealed that the new visual effects (VFX) for Aurelion Sol's skin is impressive. However, they have not yet shown off the Mecha Aurelion Sol skin. Despite this, we can expect to see high-definition effects for the Ashen Lord Aurelion Sol and Storm Dragon Aurelion skins.
The VFX for these skins are said to be incredibly detailed and well done, making the champion look even more epic and powerful. Though we have not yet seen the Mecha Aurelion Sol skin, we can be sure that it will be a visually impressive addition to the game, just like the other skins that have been revealed. The new skin VFX is a key part of the champion rework and it will be interesting to see how it will affect the gameplay and overall experience.
