League of Legends begins 2026 with a heavy emphasis on Demacia as the For Demacia Battle Pass heads up the first big passes of Riot's Season 1.
As part of Riot’s new seasonal structure, Demacia is out front from the get-go both visually and narratively, with its rich themes of honour, justice, and tradition on full display in both skins and story content.
On top of that, there’s a heaping helping of content to work through for a busy progression track that stretches across the first quarter of the year. The Battle Pass drops with the first patch window of the season in early January, so there’s a nice collection of new rewards to hunt, cosmetics to unlock, and a set window of time to grind before the season shifts to its next major theme.
What is the For Demacia Battle Pass
The For Demacia Battle Pass introduces a tiered progression system where players earn XP through matches to unlock rewards across free and premium tracks.
The pass offers a mix of:
- Skins and themed cosmetics
- Blue Essence and Orange Essence
- Mythic Essence and Ancient Sparks
- Emotes, icons, capsules, and chests
Standout rewards in Act 1
Standout rewards include:
- Petricite Cho’Gath
- Durand’s Legacy Taliyah
- Prestige Veiled Lady Morgana
In addition to these, players will receive champion permanents, mastery emotes, themed icons, event orbs, and progression materials. The best rewards are in the higher tiers, promoting consistent play across the pass’s entire length.
Release window and duration
The For Demacia Act 1 Battle Pass should be releasing alongside the Season 1 Start on January 8, 2026 with Patch 26.01. The duration of the Act is expected to be until March 3, 2026 before it deactivates shortly after.
Visually, Demacia will also have some touches on Summoner's Rift during this time, as the revamped map and cinematics set the tone for the season to come. All in all, it appears to be a more streamlined and rewarding start to the League of Legends 2026 content cycle.
