The Aurelion Sol rework is as highly anticipated, and needed, as the Udyr rework was.It seems, however, that Riot Games need more time to complete him.
Riot Games have created multiple drakes for the Summoner's Rift and even an Elder Dragon. However, there is only one true dragon in League of Legends , and that is Aurelion Sol.
The Aurelion Sol rework is a necessary one, as his kit is, to put it simply, only useful for a handful of his most ardent mains. To everyone else, the champion is a complete bust and is unplayable.
Unfortunately for all Aurelion Sol fans, or simply those that want to play a badass space dragon, Aurelion Sol's rework will be delayed:
"You'll be seeing new A Sol early next year instead of the end of the year as we originally stated in the Champ Roadmap. Wanted to give the pod a bit more time to make him awesome. Sorry to make ya wait longer."
The developers have given us a sneak peek into some of his new abilities previously, and they are reimagining his scaling completely. So, the delay seems entirely justified.
After all, the goal of Aurelion Sol's rework is a CGU, Comprehensive Gameplay update, and not a mere reimagining of his visuals.
Instead, a CGU is focused on completely remaking his kit. And as we all know, making abilities is not as simple as getting an idea for them. They must also be scaled properly to fit into the League of Legends meta.
