Although Riot Games did hint at it, numerous recent leaks are suggesting that Viktor will be the next League of Legends champion receiving a VGU rework. With Arcane Season 2 coming closer to its release date, Riot Games is preparing its in-game content to follow along with the plot of the television show.
While Riot has stated that there are plans for a secret VGU, the latest leaks now state that it would be Viktor. Champs outside of the roadmap are planned for VGU, states BigBadBear - the leaker. This comes after he reported on insider information on League of Legends.
As if the upcoming Season two of Arcane isn't enough, Riot is readjusting each of its games with new champions and other updates. Before this leak, Riot had previously announced a VGU for an unknown champion. However, according to current leaks, this will be Viktor.
With the precedent of Riot not considering Singed for a VGU before, Viktor seems like an apt candidate for one. Many champions represented in the TV series have been faithfully fleshed out, with only Arcane-themed skins featuring.
A VGU on Viktor would bring him closer to his iteration represented within the body of Arcane - especially with the lore changes around Hextech.
The upcoming VGU will update the champion's visuals and leave Viktor's abilities almost unchanged. Sometimes Riot reserves the right to tune gameplay, but there doesn't seem to be major adjustments needed in terms of gameplay for Viktor at the moment.
While these leaks are exciting in nature, they remain unconfirmed. Given everything, Viktor does seem like the most plausible champion to be receiving this VGU, but it could be any other. For now, fans have to keep their ears open for announcements by Riot.
