For the League of Legends fans who just can't wait to dive into the 2025 ranked grind, the wait is almost over. Riot Games has confirmed that Ranked Season 1 will get underway on January 9, 2025, officially.
A new competitive climb greets us, and ranks reset, meaning players will go through some placement matches determining their initial standing for the season.
The big changes coming out last year included its Swarm game mode, updated visuals for Lee Sin and Teemo, and even a Bridge of Progress ARAM map.
Riot added fun in-client mini-games such as Jinx Fixes Everything, and attached some in-game content to Arcane Season 2's release.For 2025, Riot is raising the stakes with even more updates.
This season brings a Nexus-themed visual rework, the addition of a new epic jungle monster in Atakhan, and sees the Event Pass replaced by a revamped Battle Pass system.
The new skin line featured in the Battle Pass is titled Masque of the Black Rose, which could perhaps tie in with Runeterra's lore. The breathtaking new Exalted skin Radiant Serpent Sett can also be earned as part of this season's update.
Also, Ranked Season 1 is supposed to be a chance for competitive players to climb up the ladder and finally be able to take the most expected Victorious skin.
