League of Legends Season 2026 introduces Role Quests, personalized progression systems for each role

League of Legends is introducing major role-specific upgrades in 2026 through new Role Quests. Here is a clear breakdown of every quest reward for top, mid, bot, jungle and support players.

League of Legends is charging into Season 2026 with one of its most ambitious systemic reworks in recent years, and Role Quests are looking to be the centerpiece of the Riot's design philosophy.

Every role on the Rift will climb personalized questlines that reward meaningful, late-game power spikes designed around the strengths and challenges of their lane.

From snowball plays to teamfight execution, these new systems aim to enhance players’ agency, reinforce roles’ identities, and make sure every position on the map can matter in unique ways.

Each role’s questline is tuned to complete at a different rate. Upon completion, players receive a new upgrade purchased through a role-locked item slot that can’t be traded up or replaced. Here’s a full rundown of each Role Quest and what it means for the future of top, mid, bot, jungle, and support playstyles in 2026.

What are Role Quests?

Role Quests are brand new progression systems that are tied to the role you pick before entering champion select. As you farm minions, take towers, secure lane objectives and fight in your assigned territory, your quest bar will progress. Upon filling it, you will receive a powerful role-specific bonus that will be delivered to you in a new quest specific slot.

These bonuses are not an additional item choice, but a guaranteed reward that ensures every game you play will have a solid and consistent scaling option. The system is designed to help solidify identity.

Top becomes more impactful, mid feels more tempo, bot has stronger scaling, jungle feels more balanced without sacrificing impact and support has increased utility long term. While the rewards vary, the goal is for pacing to generally align with the way support item evolutions currently do.

Top Lane Role Quest – More influence and a Teleport upgrade

The top lane has traditionally suffered from having the least global impact as the game goes on, even when ahead. The 2026 quest directly aims to resolve this core pain point by providing the most influential of all Role Quest upgrades.

A successful completion grants top laners a free Teleport spell on long cooldown. Should they already select Teleport as one of their summoner spells, it will instead grant a stronger variant of the spell with a large max-health shield on arrival.

Players also gain bonus experience on completion, additional future experience gains and even a slightly increased level cap. These upgrades all work to re-establish presence, providing top laners a much needed mid-game entry tool for important fights and helping them to translate dominance in their lane into pressure across the map.

Quest requirements

  • Earn 1200 points

Objectives:

  • Champion takedowns grant 15 points
  • Minion kills grant 2 points
  • Turrets grant 50 points
  • Turret plates grant 50 points
  • Epic monsters grant 30 points
  • All points are doubled in top lane

Rewards:

  • Gain Unleashed Teleport as a bonus summoner spell
  • If Teleport was already selected, gain a shield after teleporting
  • Gain 600 bonus experience
  • Gain increased experience from all sources
  • Gain an increased level cap

Mid Lane Role Quest – Free Tier 3 Boots and Fast Recall

The mid lane already hosts an incredibly wide range of champion archetypes, and Riot has designed a quest reward that can impact each of them positively. Completion of the mid lane Role Quest will award players with a free Tier 3 boot upgrade that works like the Feats upgrades previously available to players.

This ensures that they have access to the mobility and combat stats they need without stalling their core items. The quest also unlocks an empowered recall that channels in four seconds and provides its own cooldown.

Multiple boot stats will receive minor changes to better align them with the needs of mid-lane. All of these upgrades work together to increase tempo, roaming potential and map control.

Quest requirements

  • Earn 1350 points

Objectives:

  • Champion takedowns grant 25 points
  • Minion kills grant 2 points
  • Turrets grant 50 points
  • Turret plates grant 50 points
  • Epic monsters grant 30 points
  • All points are doubled in mid lane

Rewards:

  • Gain access to Tier 3 Boots
  • Gain empowered Recall

Bot Lane Role Quest – More gold and a seventh item slot

Bot laners are receiving a power spike that rewards them for sticking to and successfully playing into the hyper-carry fantasy. Completion of the quest provides ADCs with a large amount of gold instantly, as well as bonus gold income from farming, kills and assists.

The most impactful of these changes will be the addition of a dedicated seventh item slot for boots, allowing players to complete their full six-item builds while still retaining full mobility options.

Bot laners will feel a significant power spike and see accelerated late game scaling from these changes. The design also directly rewards players who are able to survive early game and position well in teamfights.

Quest requirements

  • Earn 1350 points

Objectives:

  • Champion takedowns grant 15 points
  • Minion kills grant 3 points
  • Turrets grant 50 points
  • Turret plates grant 50 points
  • Epic monsters grant 30 points
  • All points are doubled in bot lane

Rewards:

  • Gain 300 bonus gold
  • Melee minion gold increased to 22
  • Caster minion gold increased to 16
  • Boots are moved to a dedicated 7th item slot

Jungle Role Quest – Balanced power and safer objective control

The jungle role will continue to be supported by its own evolution system in 2026. The jungle quest is being rebalanced to slightly reduce early dominance while maintaining its core identity.

On completion of the jungle quest, players will gain increased gold and experience from taking down large monsters and a bonus movement speed while inside the jungle.

Epic monsters will also be strengthened to make it more difficult for non-junglers to steal them, while the power of Smite will be slightly increased as well. The goal with these changes is to maintain jungle impact without letting it overwhelm other lanes.

Quest requirements

  • Earn 35 points

Objectives:

  • Gain 1 point for each treat fed to your jungle pet

Rewards:

  • Upgraded Smite
  • Bonus gold and experience from jungle camps
  • 8% bonus movement speed

Support Role Quest – Stronger economy and more utility

The support quests currently work well, and Riot is making changes to existing supports to refine them rather than change the core functionality. Successful completion will provide a dedicated slot for Control Wards, meaning that supports will no longer have to sacrifice inventory space to place vision.

Control Wards will also become cheaper, and passive gold generation will increase. Together, these changes will help supports scale more comfortably into mid-game and allow for more diverse itemisation rather than rushing a single core utility item every game.

Quest requirements

  • Earn 800 points

Objectives:

  • Deal damage to champions or turrets
  • Melee champions earn 22 points
  • Ranged champions earn 20 points
  • Kill minions while near allies
  • Caster and melee minions grant 15 points
  • Cannon and siege minions grant 20 points
  • Points are doubled in bot lane

Rewards:

  • Upgraded support item
  • A dedicated item slot for Control Wards
  • Control Ward cost reduced to 40 gold
