Avalanche Studios are pretty proud of the meteorological capabilities of their Apex engine and the latest gameplay video of Just Cause 4 shows the sort of implications that the weather, more specifically tornadoes, can have on gameplay.

The mission in question shows Rico chasing a tornado in the only vehicle capable of doing so - the storm chaser. While we're more used to seeing these vehicles on Discovery's washed up shows, Just Cause 4 will put you right in the thick of the action in a fun way.

Just Cause 4's tornadoes have been meticulously crafted to resemble the real thing, with each object that's chucked about by them having its trajectory calculated real time. From the looks of it, there are some stylistic additions and in that department Avalanche seems to have done a great job.

With Black Hand seemingly having the power to keep tornadoes at bay, Rico is out to mess with their plans the only way he knows - with boom and badaboom. Thankfully, weather effects aren't the only novelty in Just Cause 4.

Avalanche said that the railgun is one of many new weapons and we must admit looks pretty fun to use. Moreover, "all of the new weapons" come with secondary fire, which in the case of railgun fires a drone that fights alongside trigger happy Rico.

The railgun's drone is doubly useful, since you don't only summon it to fight - you can use it in combination with your grappling hook to launch yourself upwards. Speaking of the grappling hook, Avalanche Studios updated its features as promised and it seems to have some firing capabilities now as well, which you can find somewhere around 2:36.

Just Cause 4 launches on 04 December 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, although we should see plenty more gameplay until then. It's good to see that the new instalment is sticking with the already traditional Just Cause recipe - if you can think it - you can probably do it. Also, everything explodes.
