KingArt Games are continuing their support for Iron Harvest with more updates and an announcement of a DLC dealing with a major red event mirroring the one that happened in real life.
Iron Harvest has received a new game mode, named Drop Zone, where the players will race against each other to collect Victory Points which will be dropped all over the map. The first player with enough Victory Points wins. It sounds a bit too simple when explained this way but there are a few caveats to make things more interesting.
Multiple stockpiles can drop at the same time and they are not collected instantly. Therefore, players will need to protect the dropped stockpiles while securing zones where future VPs will drop. This mode will be available in skirmish maps and will be playable in Ranked, Quick and Custom matches.
As for the next DLC, it pertains to the Rusviet faction. This alternate history of the world has not seen the Russian revolution but it will with the DLC that is going to be released on December 17, 2020. People will rise up against the Tsar and the players will get to experience another storyline that will span four new singleplayer maps and feature this timeline's Rasputin.
Besides those additions, the late November 2020 also marks the end of Season 1 and the start of Season 2 of Iron Harvest. Players will get a bunch of new stuff to unlock and if that's not enough of an incentive to play regularly, those looking for the prestige of being in the top ranks can look forward to climbing the ladder again as it will reset .
Those in top 15 will receive "Season 1 Elite" title to commemorate their success while everyone who completed the placement matches will get the "Veteran" title along with a faceplate.
