Don't worry if you're just here for the mechs - there are plenty of them in Iron Harvest's new story trailer. Most of it, however, is reserved for the story arc.
The trailer shows the intertwining storylines of Iron Harvest's heroic characters, and quite realistically - most of them seem to have a pretty good reason to go to war. If it was real life, we'd follow it up with 'and that's exactly why you shouldn't", but we're not planning on much diplomacy in Iron Harvest.
"Get a glimpse on the rich and atmospheric storytelling of Iron Harvest. Follow the three factions, Polania, Saxony and Rusviet and their unique heroes deeper and deeper into the evolving conflict", the trailer description reads.
Iron Harvest offers more than 20 missions and 3 factions to play with - Polania, Rusviet and Saxony, each of whom has their own heroes, most of which can be seen in the trailer.
One of the guiding lights for the development of Iron Harvest has been what King Art called "too long since the last really great RTS campaign", and we'd agree wholeheartedly. If the game ends up like the trailer, we'll certainly reset the timer.
What additionally sets Iron Harvest apart is its preference of strategy and tactics over clicks per second. In practice, this means brains will always beat speed, and this should extend into multiplayer skirmish and challenge modes.
Iron Harvest also features real-time destruction, which practically means actively changing the landscape provided you apply enough firepower.
Fans won't have to wait much longer to dive in, as Iron Harvest launches on September 1, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
