Honkai: Star Rail players will soon have a new world to explore, along with significant changes to combat systems, with Version 4.0 No Aha at Full Moon releasing on 13 February.

Planarcadia, fueled by performance, pageantry, and the Path of Elation, is the setting at the heart of Version 4.0. In addition to a brand-new story arc, Version 4.0 will introduce new characters, mechanics, and events that aim to expand and evolve both overland traversal and combat.

On top of that, players will be treated to abundant login rewards and quality-of-life updates. Overall, Version 4.0 is poised to be one of the biggest updates yet for Honkai: Star Rail.

Planarcadia and the Phantasmoon Games

Planarcadia (In version 4.0) is a world of spectacle, influence and games. When the Astral Express arrives at Duomension City, you find yourself surrounded by bizarre beings and holographic advertisements in a city full of creatures of imagination.

Every conflict within Planarcadia occurs during The Phantasmoon Games, a wild competition believed to have been devised by Aha himself. Competitors can win a small amount of control over the Aeon of Elation and players can range anywhere from local mobs to Stellaron Hunters.

The core mechanic in Planarcadia for exploration is Interplanar Jump, causing you to phase into an area where physics is different. You can do things such as double-jump and walk across water.

New Combat Mechanics and Elation Path

Combat in Version 4.0 digs deep into the Path of Elation. Players have access to Punchlines which, when charged, can release devastating Aha Instants. While active, Elation characters chain together abilities and benefit from special Certified Banger buffs.

The new system encourages creative play and aggressive gameplay while also opening up deeper strategy during combat.

Characters, Events, and Rewards

Version 4.0 introduces two new 5-star Elation characters:

  • Yao Guang - Physical strategist who controls Punchlines and team buffs
  • Sparxie - Chaotic damage dealer that specializes in Skill Point consumption and burst damage

Version 4.0 will also feature a variety of new events, quality of life system optimisations, and login rewards. Among the rewards players can earn are:

  • 20 free Warps
  • Free Ruan Mei outfit
  • 1 selectable 5-star character
  • 1,600 Stellar Jades worth of rewards from special events

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 launches on 13 February. It will launch the start of a year-long story focused around the Path of Elation.
