Hitman 3 debuted its new trailer on the night of PlayStation 5, and it's more than worthy of the next generation of consoles, but faithful fans of the franchise are not being forgotten.
IO Interactive will be launching Hitman 3 as a cross-gen title, meaning it launches for the current and next generation of devices. As the trailer shows, it's out in January 2020, shortly after PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X hit the shelves.
Hitman 3 owners who followed the franchise have some good news coming from IO, who wrote, "All locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 can be imported and played within Hitman 3 at no additional cost for existing owners – plus progression from Hitman 2 is directly carried over into HITMAN 3 at launch."
Hitman 3's development team promised a proper gameplay video soon, but the early glimpses will have to do. The best part is that everything in the trailer has been captured in-game, "using some cinematic camera angles", which bodes well for Agent 47's wow factor.
It doesn't get more wow than the parts outside the tower, which really feel like the top of the world. Looking at other buildings poking through the clouds is quite the experience.
Speaking of the top of the world, the building here isn't officially Burj Al Arab, even though everyone pretty much knows it is. We suppose this has to do with trademark issues, so the level is likely to retain the ambiguous name.
IO wrote that Hitman 3 has Agent 47 on the most important contracts of his carreer, as he gets to "embark on an intimate journey of darkness and hope in the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy. Death awaits."
