IO Interactive have announced a bunch of info on Hitman 3, starting with the launch date, which is January 20, 2021. Oh and if you buy digital - you can upgrade to next-gen for free.
Hitman 3's aforementioned launch date is for all the platforms, i.e. PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and PC via Epic Games Store. IO Interactive also kindly asked not to be tweeted at for preorder dates on different platforms, as they're likely to be available at different times.
The game comes in two editions - Standard and Deluxe. The former is just the game, while the latter features the Deluxe Pack, which includes Deluxe Escalations, in-game items, suits, soundtracks and a few other trinkets.
IO Interactive threw in some bonuses for those who preorder, and while we make it a rule to warn players to think twice before preordering, we will list the items. So, preordering gets you The Trinity Pack, which has nine items divided into three sets - white, red and black, each representing a different Hitman game.
Much like the rest of the studios, IO Interactive will be offering free upgrades for next-gen consoles, and here's how it works.
"To break that down a bit more, here’s how it’ll work: On PlayStation, when you buy a digital PS4 version of Hitman 3 from the PlayStation Store, you can download the PS5 version at no extra cost when it launches. On Xbox, Hitman 3 leverages Smart Delivery allowing access to both the Xbox One title and Xbox Series X title when available", the dev wrote.
IO Interactive said that Hitman 3 is a true love letter to the fans of the franchise, and the fact there's no publisher this time around definitely bodes well for players who criticised their business practises.
