According to lead game designer Tymon Smektala, Dying Light 2's main story missions will take around 15 to 20 hours to complete while completionists will have to invest a staggering 100 hours.
After impressive gameplay reveal at E3 2019 and a couple of other trailers shortly after that, it's safe to say that Techland have successfully started to build up the hype for their upcoming survival horror action-adventure Dying Light 2.
According to the developers, Dying Light 2 is looking to improve on its predecessor in almost every single way. It's going to be much bigger, it will offer more choices to players and a huge variety of tools to help them survive the harsh, post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world.
Today, we have some new details on how big this world and story will be. According to lead game designer Tymon Smektala, who recently spoke to Prankster101 Productions, players will need to invest around 15 to 20 hours to complete Dying Light 2's main story missions.
However, those who like to explore every last bit of the map, find every collectable and complete all side quests are up for quite a ride since Dying Light 2 can be fully completed only if you play a staggering 100 hours.
When compared to Dying Light, this is more than double since the original game could be fully completed in roughly 50 hours for an average player.
Of course, there are many factors that can increase the time needed to complete the story or the full game. As Smektala points out, some choices that players make can extend the playtime or traveling between certain points or how much time players spend killing zombies.
All in all, it will be bigger than its predecessor which is always good to hear but also expected. It remains to be seen if Dying Light 2 also brings quality content to fill its massive world and whether or not it lives up to the hype.
Dying Light 2 is hitting the shelves sometime in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
