Blizzard announced the next solo adventure lined up for Hearthstone - Descent of Dragons: Galakrond's Awakening. They rolled out a traditionally funny trailer, which has the arch-villain Rafaam and his prisoner Reno discussing the specifics.
This also means that the saga that kicked off with The Dalaran Heist is coming to an end, although Blizzard are likely to explain it much more detail in the trailer. Quite theatrically too.
"When we last left our heroes and villains, the Tombs of Terror had been unsealed, spreading plagues across the sands of Uldum. The League of Explorers defeated the Plague Lords, but Arch-Villain Rafaam escaped with the Plague of Undeath. We now know why: to resurrect Galakrond, the progenitor of all dragons", the dev wrote.
Galakrond's Awakening comes with four chapters, each one with three encounters, so 24 unique battles in total. You can choose among the current hero/villain roster and get decks specifically premade for specific encounters.
The Heroic mode will let you build your own deck and have an overall more challenging experience, but there are spoils to be won - beating it gets you the special card backs on the image below - one for the League of Explorers and one for League of E.V.I.L.
As usual, the first chapter is free for all while the rest are $6.99 or 700 gold each, unless you go for the full adventure pack which is $19.99.
Galakrond's Awakening is also bringing back collectable cards, and players can unlock up to 35 cards in both of the campaigns, with the option to craft golden versions. Unlocking them is as follows:
