With just under 100 days to go before release, Ghost of Yōtei is ready to take centre stage. Sucker Punch Productions will give fans their most in-depth look yet at Atsu’s story at the dedicated State of Play tomorrow, July 10, 2025. During the showcase, players can expect to see new story details and deeper insight into the gameplay aspects like exploration, combat, open world activities and more.

The State of Play presentation also promises to show off Atsu’s new weapons, special game modes and more. Players will also get a glimpse at "new ways to customise their journey", but it's not quite clear what this exactly means. Perhaps multiple endings and choice and consequence systems?

When and where to watch

The Ghost of Yōtei State of Play is set to stream live on PlayStation’s official Twitch and YouTube channels on July 10 at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET / 10 pm BST / 11 pm CEST. Hosted by Creative Directors Jason Connell and Nate Fox, the presentation will run for nearly 20 minutes.

Release date

Ghost of Yōtei is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025. It's set to be Sony's biggest video game release in 2025, and it's safe to say that the publisher is slowly building that hype towards the release.

Ghost of Yōtei is set 300 years after the first game, and it features a female protagonist on a revenge mission. The game will take place in a new region of Japan with the legendary Mount Fuji looming across the vast open world. It's one of my most exciting games of this year, and I can't wait to see more of it.
