Xbox studio The Coalition are rumoured to be working on a new IP and a new Gears game.

Xbox Marketing chief Aaron Greenberg commented on some Xbox first-party studios including The Coalition, which are Xbox's studio focusing on the Gears of War franchise.

Greenberg praised The Coalition team for their work on Unreal Engine and mentioned that they have several projects in the works, which are still unannounced.

"They are masters at Unreal Engine, they helped Epic Games carry out their demo of The Matrix. The team right now is working on several unannounced projects," Greenberg said.

The Coalition are rumoured to be working on a smaller game which is apparently a brand new IP , not connected to the Gears series in any way.

Additionally, the studio announced last year that they are switching to Unreal Engine 5 and this new project should be some sort of "get to know" Epic's new tech before starting the work on their next big title, which is probably Gears 6.

But that's just two projects, what about other since Greenberg specifically mentioned several projects, which is more than two. Well, it's possible The Coalition are helping out other Xbox teams but that's just speculation.

We don't have additional details about The Coalition's additional projects, not even rumours so it's better to wait for the official info from the studio themselves.
