FromSoftware has released the new update 1.12 for Elden Ring ahead of the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release. The update included various gameplay changes, including PVP weapon balancing and quality of life updates.
While update 1.12 had no underlying issues for most platforms, Steam Deck users have reported a bug affecting their Elden Ring gameplay experience.
The bug causes Steam Deck to accept no input if Elden Ring is left active for more than 5 minutes without any input from the user. FromSoftware has addressed the Steam Deck bug and announced that they are working on a hotfix to fix the issue.
Elden Ring's Steam Deck bug
After the update 1.12 for Elden Ring, Steam Deck users reported that their inputs were not being registered after leaving their device inactive for a while.
FromSoftware has addressed the issues on their Twitter account stating, "A Steam Deck-related issue has been identified and a hotfix is being worked on. Leaving your Steam Deck inactive for more than 5 minutes may stop the game from accepting inputs."
While FromSoftware has addressed the issue, they have also mentioned that the release date for hotfix will be announced soon. Currently, the only way to counter this Steam Deck bug is to close the game if players intend to leave the game inactive for more than five minutes.
Elden Ring players are gearing up for the release of the most anticipated Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The update 1.12 adds new in-game content, accessibility settings such as the new map navigation system and other quality of life changes.
The Elden Ring: Shadow of Erdtree releases on June 21 across all platforms worldwide. Steam Deck users can hope to see a fix to the unfortunate bug with an upcoming follow-up hotfix for the DLC.
