From Software and Bandai Namco say players can look forward to more Elden Ring as an IP as they prepare to expand the game beyond video games.
Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco and developer From Software released a press release , revealing sale numbers for Elden Ring and also, mentioning how they're looking into expanding the franchise into other mediums, beyond video games.
"Please look forward to more of Elden Ring as an IP (characters and other intellectual property) in hopes of expanding beyond the realm of games."
The press release does not mention additional details.
So, what can we expect from this expansion beyond the realm of video games? Well, an animated series perhaps? Or a comic? The possibilities are certainly endless for Bandai Namco and From Software with Elden Ring, which has become the first mainstream From Software game.
Elden Ring took the spotlight from every other major release over the past month, including the PlayStation exclusive Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2 and Gran Turismo 7 - all very strong releases, receiving both commercial and critical success.
Elden Ring is also the best selling From Software game ever released so it's safe to say that the incredible video game is only the beginning of this franchise. We can't wait to see what else Bandai Namco and From Software have in plans. Until then, The Lands Between are waiting to be explored.
