Playground Games have announced that the response to their UK themed racing title Forza Horizon 4, has been overwhelming, with the game hitting 2 million players in the first week and becoming the highest rated Xbox exclusive in this gen.

The dev didn't pass up an opportunity to toot their own horn a bit, adding that Forza remains best selling racing franchise in this generation of consoles. Knowing the sort of treat they delivered in Forza Horizon 4 though, we're tempted to let it slide.

Playground Games shared a bit of interesting statistics as well, like the one that upwards of 4.6 million hours of Forza Horizon 4 has been watched on Mixer, Twitch, YouTube and Facebook streaming platforms since 09 October 2018. The aforementioned 2 million players so far bought up more than 4.1 million properties and 74.4 million cars, with no concern whatsoever for global warning.

Speaking of cars, Forza Horizon 4 players have amassed 822.7 million miles, which is about 1.32 million kilometres, and Playground mentioned they're not sure whether this is covered by the warranty. Upwards of 377.7 million roads were discovered as well, so there was no shortage of exploration either.

The company are over the moon with the response and promise many more features fo the upcoming weeks, including the community requested and highly anticipated route creator. Note that the route creator lands on 25 October 2018, so there's still 15 dry days to go.

Forza Horizon 4 dev the highs and the lows of Brit roads, mentioning that potholes seemed to be the first thing on everyone's mind. Potholes in fact changed a lot in terms of design, since Playground had to find a balance between realism and playability, which is often much harder than it sounds.

Ultimately, all the roads had to be hand scrubbed and inspected, just so as to not to make Forza Horizon 4 as impossible as many of those feats would be in real life. Because we all know real potholes ain't no joke.
