With great popularity comes great revenue and Fortnite's latest feat testifies to that statement. Fortnite Mobile has raked in £1,07 million within 96 hours of its release. Is this the final nail in PUBG's coffin?
If the battle royale genre is a very hot topic at the moment, then Fortnite is lava. Ninja is the most popular streamer of the game and he was recently interviewed by CBS about the fact that he earns over half a million dollars each month. That's a large sum, but Fortnite's market is even larger. The game's mobile iteration is less than a week old and it's already counting its millions.
Sensor Tower, a statistical website, estimates that Fortnite Mobile players have spent over £1,07 million on in-game purchases. What's more, this is only a tiny fraction of the player base that will flood the game. It is currently available only on iOS, with Android version in the works. On top of it, Fortnite Mobile is still invite-only so not even the iOS player base is completely accounted for.

In a about Fortnite Mobile's success, Sensor Tower notes that the game earned $1 million in the first 72 hours and another half a million USD in the following day. Regardless, this is way above ''its primary rivals in the burgeoning mobile survival game genre during the same post-launch period''.
While the games taken for comparison are Knives Out and Rules of Survival, it is evident that PUBG Mobile isn't faring as well as Fortnite Mobile. PUBG Corp have resorted to some desperate measures in order to push out the Android version of PUBG out as soon as possible. This means bots - they have flooded the game with so the roster of 100 ''players'' can get filled without having to wait too long.

It is noteworthy that Fortnite's In-App Purchases are purely cosmetic and offer no gameplay advantage whatsoever but it has managed to gross one third of Pokemon GO and Clash Royale did in their first four days of availability on iOS.
