Final Fantasy IX is now available for PlayStation 4. The digital release includes HD movies and character models as well as the Master All Abilities booster. Fans who purchase via the PS Store receive an original PS4 custom theme.
During a press conference today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy IX is now available digitally for PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 edition includes features such as:
- High-definition movies and character models
- Auto-save functionality
- Seven optional booster features, including high speed mode and no encounter mode, the Master All Abilities booster. The booster will allow players to automatically master equipped weapons and gear, as well as features to maximize character levels, magic stone counts and gil
- PlayStation 4 trophy support, share functionality and remote play with the PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system
Final Fantasy IX was originally released for PlayStation back in 2000. Then, in 2012 the game got a re-release, bundled into the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box. Finally (hehe) Final Fantasy IX was ported to PC as well as Android and iOS based devices in 2016.
In order to celebrate the release, will be available at a discount until 26 September. Until then, the game will cost you around £12.99, and after the offer expires, it will go back to its regular price of around £15.99.
People who make the purchase via the PlayStation Store will receive an original PlayStation 4 custom theme designed by Toshiyuki Itahana and eight PlayStation Network avatars.
According to the press release, "Final Fantasy IX tells the story of the bandit Zidane, princess Garnet, the shy yet powerful black mage Vivi Ornitier, the loyal knight Adelbert Steiner, and other memorable characters for a thrilling fantasy tale of love, war, magic and self-discovery".
