Bethesda's Fallout 76 has recorded increased sales in November taking the fourth spot on the best selling games chart which has been shared by NPD. Online RPG was only behind the usual heavy hitters like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Black Ops
Even though Fallout 76 endured a rocky start and worse sales than Fallout 4 and Fallout New Vegas, it appears that the survival RPG has picked up the pace as the month went on. That's according to sales numbers of The NPD group which show that Bethesda's latest instalment in Fallout series is doing just fine. Fallout 76 is only trailing the usual big name titles like Rockstar's western Red Dead Redemption 2, Treyarch's Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and EA's Battlefield V.
Fallout 76 sold better than two Pokemon titles - Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee which are fifth and sixth on the list. Behind them are two sports games - NBA 2K19 and Madden NFL19 and the top ten list is completed by Spyro Reignited Trilogy and another sports game - FIFA 19.
These results are surprising given that Fallout 76 is nothing but a headache for Bethesda since its release. The developer released a number of updates to improve the overall experience and add some missing features which players desperately requested. Recently Bethesda dropped a for 2019 and shared plans for the upcoming year.
When compared to the previous iterations in the series, Fallout 76 physical sales in the UK are 82 per cent lower than Fallout 4 which is an abysmal percentage. And yes, we know that most people buy their games digitally in 2018 but the fact that Bethesda put a newly released game on a 50 per cent discount just weeks after the launch says it all really.
