Some good news coming from Bethesda today, as Fallout 76 players will not be treated to one but two double XP weekends in April, which is their way of celebrating the recently launched Wild Appalachia and PvP oriented Survival Beta.
You won't have to wait long until the first double XP weekend is here, as Bethesda kicked it off already. The exact timing is 12pm EDT, which is 4pm UTC, and Fallout 76 players can start "soaking up that sweet, sweet bonus XP". It lasts until 08 April, which is Monday, at 6am EDT / 4pm UTC.
The second double XP weekend isn't until 25 April and same timing, but we all know who the real star is here. Namely, the events will be notable for the inclusion of Survival Beta, Bethesda's attempt to spice up Fallout 76's PvP experience.
In an attempt to try and get Fallout 76 players onboard, the first double XP weekend is actually reserved for those who jump into Survival Beta. The second one will work in the recently renamed Adventure part.
Think of it as a way to do Todd and Co a solid by doing some beta testing on Fallout 76's PvP. Lord knows that you're probably as qualified for work in Bethesda's bug fixing department as anyone there, maybe even better.
As if moving Fallout from a traditionally singleplayer and therefore more intimate experience wasn't enough, Howard and Hines have been bombarded with so many concerns and different opinions on the equally sacrilegious PvP.
Bethesda ended up playing it safe with the most lifeless version of PvP possible, where doing damage to a disinterested player was akin to that guy who keeps hitting people with spoons. Which was pretty funny, unlike Fallout.
Fallout 76's Survival Mode is being positioned as own game, and it looks as if Bethesda are finally doing what they initially hoped to pull off with Emperor's New Fallout.
