Rockfish Games released another update for Everspace 2 as it's gearing up for the full release at some point next year.
Everspace 2 has received a new update on Steam and GOG while Microsoft Store version is getting it soon. There are several highlights but the new ship is probably the one that will catch the most attention.
Stinger is the third light fighter to appear in Everspace 2 and it's focusing on electronic warfare, favouring pilots who prefer agile spacecraft that focused on abilities. Using the ship's devices, players will activate its third hardpoint under the hull which will cause it to deal 50 per cent more primary damage.
Void Swarm is the Stinger's Ultimate and it resets device cooldowns while releasing a swarm of micro-bots that will consume everything in the way but they will prioritise the target they are locked onto. Once they return to the Stinger, the bots will restore its hull and armour, based on the damage dealt to targets.
Additionally, Stingers can get random perks and some of them include 20 per cent cooldown reduction for support or warfare devices or an increase of the Void Swarm's radius by 25 per cent. Alternatively, it can become cloaked for five seconds after its shield is depleted.
Besides the new ship, this update includes a new hostile subfaction, Okkar Prime, as well as improved crafting, resource gathering, new equipment, story content, perks and more challenges.
Furthermore, there is now localisation support for:
- German
- French
- Italian
- Spanish
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Czech
- Polish
- Simplified and Traditional Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
To top it all off, player level cap has been increased which should serve to better accommodate all the new content.
