One of the unannounced projects is in the final stages of development, says Hidetaka Miyazaki.
Following the massive success of their most recent action RPG Elden Ring, From Software are kicking off the development of other, yet-to-be-announced projects. Of course, part of the Elden Ring team will still work on Elden Ring updates and potential DLC but the majority of the Elden Ring team have probably been moved to other titles, which are currently in development according to Hidetaka Miyazaki, Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring director.
In the most recent interview, Miyazaki mentions that From Software are working on several titles that are directed by people other than himself. Additionally, the studio's next goal is to bring in more staff to help with the new games.
"We are working on several titles directed by people other than myself, but I am not at a stage where I can talk about them in detail yet," Miyazaki said. "The timing is right for us to increase our development staff."
Miyazaki even hinted that the new games will have a different tone and direction than their previous titles but it's not quite clear what he means by that. Perhaps they're exploring different genres and themes?
"I think we will be able to show you a different colour or direction for FromSoftware, so please look forward to seeing what we have in store for you."
We know that there's an Armored Core game in the works, thanks to a leak which revealed early gameplay screenshots, and this could indeed be the project that is in the final stages of development, given that it's already been playtested.
As for Elden Ring, there are more updates in store but Miyazaki didn't offer much detail on that.
