Need for Speed is the iconic racing franchise from Electronic Arts. Since the first release in 1994, EA published 24 Need for Speed games on PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Need for Speed games are developed by Criterion Games and Ghost Games.
The new Need for Speed has been launched - for mobile phones. Electronic Arts and Tencent launched Need for Speed Mobile in the Chinese market, whose map is based on the one from Need for Speed Heat, and focuses on online racing.
As of yesterday, another game in the Need for Speed series is available. Need for Speed Mobile is, as the name suggests, a mobile game that is currently only available on the Chinese market.
Electronic Arts calls it the first open-world mobile Need For Speed game. Behind the game is Tencent's Timi Studio, which essentially adapted the map from NFS Heat for Unreal Engine 4 and inserted 150 licensed cars from around 30 world brands into the game.
Although the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s expected that Need For Speed Mobile will come out sometime in 2024. Currently, the game is in a closed beta test phase for the time being.
The gameplay is focused on online races, the driving is very arcade, and everything is bursting with effects just like in the last NFS Unbound. China has been selected for public testing of the game, and when it is finished, NFS Mobile should appear on Android and iOS devices worldwide.
