Forza Horizon 4 will no longer be available for digital purchase after December 15, 2024, and as of today, add-ons for the game will no longer be available for purchase. From the same date, the game will no longer be available on the Game Pass subscription either.
The reason behind this is the well-known case of in-game license expiration for certain cars. The same thing happened to all the previous Forza Horizon titles.
Namely, mainly due to licensing, both cars and music, the developer Playground Games, Forza Horizon 4 is withdrawing from sales on 15 December this year.
This means that you will no longer be able to buy the game on Steam, Microsoft Store or Xbox, but if you already own it, you can still download it and play it however and whenever you want.
The same applies to expansions and all other additional content, but it has already been withdrawn from sale and you can only get it by purchasing the Deluxe edition.
Fortunately, all those who bought the game or will buy it in the next six months will be able to continue playing it until further notice. The disappearance of the game from sale will not affect the online functionality of Forza Horizon 4.
The game is also withdrawn from Xbox Game Pass, and as a subscriber players will not be able to play it after December 15, this year. However, if you have purchased any additional content at any point before June 25, you will receive a code for the base game from Microsoft, effectively owning it.
