Dota 2's biggest tournament of the year now has a location and Valve went on to detail The International's structure for this incarnation.
Valve unveiled the next host country for The International and this time around it will be Singapore as the tournament is coming to SEA for the first time.
The International 2022 will have The Last Chance Qualifiers from October 8 to 12, followed by the group stage on October 15 to 18, which will include 20 teams duking it out for the right to be at the main event.
Teams that qualify will participate in the playoffs at SunTec Singapore on October 20 to 23, leaving even fewer participants still standing. When the last few teams are up, they will meet for the finals at Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 29 and 30, where the ultimate winner will come out on top.
There is currently no info on how to acquire the tickets but Valve noted they will announce it later on.
Before all that happens, there will be a major update happening on June 8. Technically, this update is behind schedule but the reason is the aforementioned size and given its potential to be a game-changer, it's worth studying it before the big event.
Additionally, it's likely the battle pass that will fuel TI's prize pool is coming out around the same time and if it's to beat the predecessor's record, there will need to be something really special in it, since massing up $40 million is no easy task.
