Death Stranding 2 may not launch before 2025. ResetEra user Red Kong XIX has found an ArtStation profile of one of the artists who allegedly worked on the game and interestingly, they list Death Stranding 2 and release date of 2025 in their portfolio.
ResetEra user did not share the name of the artist but have verified that they worked on the game via the video game credits database MobyGames.
Keep in mind that the artist worked for an outsourcing studio that helped Kojima Productions with the development by working on various assets, so it's likely that they are not up to date with the release schedule of the game.
Reliable Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier replied to the thread on ResetEra, suggesting that this listing doesn't mean much as ArtStation requires artists to put a date of the project so most of them just put random date in the future.
"You guys have to stop using ArtStation as a source. ArtStation requires people to put in a date for each item so they just pick random days in the future," Schreier said.
All in all, you should definitely take this date with a grain of salt as 2025 does seem a bit far away for Death Stranding 2 which fans expect sometime in 2024.
Hopefully, we'll get more details on the release date at The Game Awards 2023 in December, which could bring us a new trailer for the game.
Death Stranding 2 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 5.
