Third person horror is back on the menu with Daymare 1994 which now has a release date.
Besides the excellent Resident Evil remakes in recent years, the third-person horror genre has had a rough run due to games running into problems right on release day, much like Callisto Protocol .
Some feel this will be the case with the upcoming Daymare 1994: Sandcastle but there are also those who are eagerly awaiting the game's release.
The faithful fans will rejoice as Invader Studios announced that Daymare 1994 is going to release on August 30, 2023.
Additionally, the announcement noted that the game is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S simultaneously so no timed exclusivity shenanigans will be present.
If that was not enough good news, there is one more ace up the devs' sleeve - there is a free demo that is coming on May 11, 2023. It will be available on Steam and there is currently no word on whether consoles will get a taste ahead of release.
This time around, the players will take control of Dalia Reyes, a member of the HADES unit that tends to get itself involved into all kinds of horrors. Chronologically, the events of this game are set before Daymare 1998 but it doesn't change the fact that this squad is just looking to get itself involved with nightmare fuel.
The demo will feature multiple weapons, combat encounters, an intro to the story and possibly a puzzle or two.
