Cuphead's flirting with the devil seems to have taken its toll as the DLC called The Delicious Last Course has been delayed once more, with COVID-19 being among the culprits.
You may recall The Delicious Last Course DLC being scheduled for sometime during 2019, but eventually ended up delayed into 2020. Unfortunately, it now looks like we're talking about 2021, as Studio MDHR decided to do it once more.
"In true studio MDHR fashion, we aren't content for this final chapter to be anything less than our best work. Throughout development, we've challenged ourselves to put everything we've learned from making Cuphead into the quality of The Delicious Last Course's animation, design and music", the studio wrote.
Much like the rest of the industry, though, the global pandemic has taken its toll on Studio MDHR, so instead of rushing it out the door as it is, the dev decided to delay it until it matches the standards set forth by its predecessors, not to mention the standards Cuphead's community has come to expect.
To be fair though, even if The Delicious Last Course was locked and loaded by mid-December, the month is not exactly what you'd call great timing. After all, CD Projekt Red are launching their highly-anticipated RPG Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10, and more than one developer has already ensured their releases are well clear of the popular game.
Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, who represent the core of Studio MDHR, concluded the statement by saying, "We know many of you have been waiting to return to the Inkwell Isles and our goal is to make the trip back there next year a truly magical one."
