Remedy Entertainment used today's PlayStation State of Play to reveal that Control Resonant, the sequel to its acclaimed 2019 action game, launches worldwide on 24 September 2026. Pre-orders are already open across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The standard edition is priced at €59.99 / £49.99 / $59.99.
The big shift this time is who you're playing as. Rather than returning to Jesse Faden, Control Resonant puts you in the role of her brother Dylan, played by Sean Durrie. Once a test subject of the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan is sent into the heart of a supernatural crisis in a distorted version of Manhattan, with Jesse, now the FBC's Director, missing.
He's joined by a new ally, Zoe de Vera, alongside returning faces Simon Arish and Emily Pope from the original. The setup nudges the series out of the Oldest House and into a city being warped by a new form of resonance, working alongside the returning Hiss and Mold. On paper, that's a meaningful change of scenery for a series that was, to its credit, defined by a single unforgettable building.
Editions and pre-order details
There are a few editions to weigh up. The Standard Edition is £49.99 in digital and physical form. The Digital Deluxe Edition is £59.99 and adds the AWE Mission Outfit, an Untapped Artifact (Wallet), a Starter Resource Bundle, a digital artbook and the soundtrack.
It's worth noting that the PS5 version of the Digital Deluxe Edition is the only one that includes 48 hours of early access — the Steam, Epic and Xbox Deluxe editions don't, which is a bit odd. There's also a physical SteelBook Edition at £59.99 with art prints and a poster. Pre-order bonuses across the board include a Pickpocket's Tool Artifact and a Hiss Corruption outfit, with an additional Occult Outfit exclusive to PlayStation.
One small caveat on the Deluxe extras: the AWE Mission Outfit, Untapped Artifact and Starter Resource Bundle unlock at the end of Act 1 rather than straight away, so don't expect them from the off.
Platforms and launch
Control Resonant launches 24 September 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic, with GeForce NOW support at launch. A Mac version via Steam and the App Store is due later this year. It's also Remedy's most localised game yet, with full audio in eight languages.
Pre-orders are live now.
