Chrono Studio and Kakao Games have officially announced the dates for the first closed beta of Chrono Odyssey, the upcoming MMORPG built around time manipulation and large-scale fantasy combat. The beta will run exclusively on Steam from June 20 to June 22, 2025, giving players a limited-time opportunity to experience the world of Setera firsthand.
To accompany the announcement, a new gameplay trailer has been released, showcasing several key features including dynamic combat, environmental exploration, and the game’s signature time-bending mechanics.
New Trailer Highlights Combat, Open World and...Fishing
The new trailer for Chrono Odyssey is probably the best one yet as it gives us a closer look at how the game actually plays. We got to see some field boss battles, various dungeons with traps and some spectacular party fights.
After all that fighting, you'll get a chance to relax and fish at the nearest river or lake, as fishing mechanic has also been confirmed.
“Everything in Chrono Odyssey is about how time—and the loss of it—shapes the world and its fate,” said Executive Producer Sangtae Yoon. “This new trailer is a narrative invitation to players. The first closed beta is your chance to experience that world for yourself.”
Closed Beta Details
The beta will go live on Steam from June 20 at 00:00 PDT to June 22 at 23:59 PDT. Players will be able to explore one region of Setera during the test period, which will include plenty of combat, enviromental hazards and rift mechanics and scalable content depending on your party size.
- Time-Manipulation Combat: Chain devastating combos with time rewind and freeze mechanics. Beta players can try three core classes: Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker.
- An Unreal World: Explore one explorable region filled with temporal rifts, shifting biomes, and environmental hazards—all powered by Unreal Engine 5.
- A New Era of MMORPG: This PC-exclusive beta will offer a curated gameplay slice including early story quests, immersive combat, and scalable solo or party play.
