Capcom have truly been on a roll recently, even making their way to Newzoo's list of top 25 public gaming companies by revenue, which is no small feat. Now they posted an update on sales and Monster Hunter: World holds a convincing lead.

We've already learned that Monster Hunter: World is Capcom's of all time, but the company now showed the rest of the data on their top performers.

Monster Hunter: World stands at 12.4 million units across PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Capcom said that the sales exceeded 12 million, and the gap to the second place is substantial.

And the second place belongs to Resident Evil 5, which launched for PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2009. So far, the game sold 7.5 million copies.

There's not much difference between the second placed Resident Evil 5 and third-placed RE 6, both in sales and platforms. RE 6 launched in 2012 but only managed 7.3 million copies.

Fourth place is also reserved for Resident Evil instalment - RE 7 Biohazard, which is a more recent title. It launched in 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, selling 6.4 million units since.

Fifth place belongs to the absolute classic Street Fighter 2 for SNES, also a classic in its own right, and the Hadouken simulator has sold 6.3 million units since its launch in 1992.

Resident Evil 2 for PlayStation came in sixth, and the iconic instalment has sold 4.96 million units since its launch in January 1998.

Next up is a Monster Hunter trinity, with MH Freedom 3 for PSP, X and MH 4 Ultimate selling 4.9, 4.3. and 4.2 million units, the latter two on Nintendo's 3DS platform.

Last but most certainly not least is the remake of Resident Evil 2, which has sold 4.2 million units across PC, PS4 and Xbox One since its launch in January 2019.

Of course, when it comes to Monster Hunter: World and Resident Evil 2 remaster, those numbers are likely to keep growing, and at this tempo, the latter should be catching up with the original RE2 in no time.
