Call of Duty: WW2 will be hosting another community event that will run from 29 May to 26 June 2018. CoD has been known for the Zombies mode for a while now, but Sledgehammer are looking to kick it up a notch by mixing it with multiplayer.
This will be the first time zombies will be present in a mode out of their dedicated one named, well, zombies. There will be three limited-time game modes that will pit players against each other and throw zombies into the mix for maximum chaos on the battlefield.
One of the modes will be Infected, which was present in earlier iterations. Players bitten by zombies will turn when playing this mode, and will then attempt to infect as many survivors as possible. This will be the first mode during the event and it is already underway.
Hordepoint will be introduced to WW2 on 5 June 2018 and this mode is actually Hardpoint but with zombies across the place. Relic of the Undead will be the final game mode and it will come to the game on 12 June 2018. This mode will have players chasing a skull, which will presumably generate points to whichever team is in possession.
The event will introduce new weapons as well, such as Blunderbuss, Nambu Type 2, Lever Action, PTRS 41 and M1919 in the firearms lineup. Claymore and fire axe will be joining the melee weaponry. It will be interesting to see how Sledgehammer will handle the PTRS 41, as its massive size usually dictates it has to be a stationary weapon deployed on a bipod. Then again, Battlefield V trailer showed a soldier shooting an MG42 with one hand.
Groesten Haus will be added as a new map during the event, and there will be a community challenge to rack up zombie kills during the Attack of the Undead. Players will have the opportunity to earn the Tesla Gun along the way.
