While the biggest introduction is Amped Battle Royale limited-time mode, new updates and changes to core gameplay systems are driving more players towards a different, fast-paced take on Warzone. You can check the full patch notes here.
Amped Battle Royale is a weekend-only mode that alters how survivability works in matches by replacing the usual armour plate management with new mechanics like increased health, health regeneration, and positional strategy.
Activision's Season 01 also brings a host of balancing changes to existing perks and weapons in Warzone. New buffs and nerfs are being introduced for a variety of player-favourites, with changes tracking close with recent updates in Black Ops 7 Multiplayer as well.
Amped Battle Royale LTM explained
Amped Battle Royale significantly shifts the pacing of combat by buffing base health and regeneration and removing most armour mechanics. As a result, players are incentivised to commit to engagements, be more mindful of positioning and place less emphasis on plate economy.
Key changes include:
- Base health increased to 450, with faster regeneration
- Armour removed from starting loadouts and ground loot
- Health bars enabled above opponents
- Increased ammo availability
- Higher gas damage to discourage late rotations
Perk and weapon adjustments
Season 01 also features some direct perk tuning, with Ghost no longer obscuring players from Advanced UAVs, and Reactive Armor plates now regenerating at a quicker rate.
This is intended to make some of the available perk selections less mandatory and more situational.Multiple weapon categories are affected by these weapon tunings, with several changes to assault rifles, SMGs, snipers, and melee weapons.
Recoil behaviour, flinch resistance, hip-fire accuracy, and attachment balance are the main targets of these changes, in order to better normalise the sandbox for both close- and long-range encounters.
Bug fixes and stability improvements
These changes also include a number of additional bug fixes and general improvements, including a number of issues with armour damage bypassing, challenge progress, map exploits, and progression errors.
In addition to supporting the larger goals of the Amped Battle Royale iteration, these changes also help to stabilise the overall Warzone experience.
