The next Call of Duty title in line, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, was finally revealed in the Call of Duty Next event. The event was hosted by Treyarch, where players were given an insight to everything new included in the next Call of Duty title.
One of these features shown in the event was the new global weapon build system, which will replace the attachment and weapon build system introduced by Infinity Ward in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Here's a look at how the new global weapon builds will work across all Call of Duty titles.
New Global Weapon Builds Explained
With the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward introduced a new weapon attachment and unlock system. It carried over to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which forced players to unlock or level up a certain weapon to unlock a certain attachment or weapon.
Moving on to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Treyarch has announced they will be reintroducing the classic weapon and attachment unlock system. With the new global weapon builds, players can level up a certain weapon to unlock its respective attachments.
Treyarch explained how the new weapon build system will work in the recent Call of Duty blog, stating, "Perfecting your favourite weapon loadout builds or blueprints doesn’t need to be done more than once, as Black Ops 6 brings the concept of Global Weapon Builds into a reality across all three modes (Black Ops 6, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone). This loadout and Gunsmith usability improvement is a huge time saver, as it allows you to make a change to any build or blueprint in any game, and it permeates out everywhere the gun is equipped."
We tested out the global weapon builds in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta, and it was a great feature compared to the current weapon system introduced by Infinity Ward with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2022.
The new global weapon builds will be available in all Call of Duty titles including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Zombies and Warzone 2.
