Blizzard have just announced that J. Allen Brack will be stepping down as the leader of the studio, and Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will co-lead the company moving forward.
Blizzard Entertainment have officially announced that J. Allen Brack will be stepping down as the studio leader after 15 years with the company. Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will be co-leading Blizzard moving forward. Here is the official statement from Blizzard regarding J. Allen Brack departure from the company:
"Starting today, J. Allen Brack will be stepping down as the leader of the studio, and Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will co-lead Blizzard moving forward."
J. Allen Brack also shared a message with the fans, saying that the new leadership will push Blizzard to its full potential and introduce much-needed changes. Here's his letter in full:
"I am confident that Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will provide the leadership Blizzard needs to realize its full potential and will accelerate the pace of change. I anticipate they will do so with passion and enthusiasm and that they can be trusted to lead with the highest levels of integrity and commitment to the components of our culture that make Blizzard so special."
The announcement from Blizzard comes in a wake of a California lawsuit earlier this month which alleged discrimination at the company. Since the lawsuit was filed, many shocking details regarding the toxic culture at Blizzard started to surface.
Whether more Blizzard higher-ups decide to leave the company in the following weeks and months, it remains to be seen.
