Blizzard may be remastering Diablo II

Blizzard is looking for extra hands willing to do some remastering work. A recent job posting by the company for a Senior Software Engineer hints at more remasters coming our way after the recent confirmation of a StarCraft remaster.

The old SD StarCraft has recently became , following Blizzards that a remastered version of the game is arriving this Summer. 

A recent job posting from Blizzard, diligently screen-capped by , revealed that the company is looking for a "Senior Software Engineer, Engine" for a project that aims to restore some of their games to their former glory.

"Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft II, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation", was part of the job listing.

David Brevik, a Blizzard co-founder and project lead on Diablo II, explained the difficulties of remastering old games in a recent podcast interview with .

If a Diablo II remaster is really what Blizzard is working on, and not a Lost Vikings HD version, then there is a chance that the old low-res version could go free-to-play.
