If you were to ask devoted Blizzard fans, they'd probably tell you they're expecting this year's BlizzCon to be especially good, if nothing else then to wash away the bitterness of the last one. And if the rumours are true, it will be.
Eagle-eyed Diablo fans noticed an ad in the latest edition of German gaming mag GameStar, which talks about the upcoming concept art book titled The Art of Diablo.
That's not what caught their eye, though - it's the part that mentions a yet-to-be-seen Diablo instalment.
"Featuring over 500 artworks from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III, and Diablo IV, this book features many noteworthy artworks created for Blizzard Entertainment’s iconic action RPG, which has given generations of fans everlasting nightmares", reads the translation from German and you can already spot the culprit.
To make matters even more interesting, not to mention likely, prominent Overwatch streamer Metro recently tweeted that Diablo 4 and Diablo 2 remastered will both be announced at BlizzCon 2019.
Now, it's entirely possible that Diablo 4 refers to Diablo Immortal, the star of BlizzCon 2018. On the other hand, Kotaku that the fourth instalment in the iconic franchise was close to being announced in 2018, which is why Blizzard is ready to unleash it now.
One thing is for certain - Blizzard won't, or at least shouldn't, miss an opportunity to make things right with the community since that order is getting taller by the minute.
Interestingly, Metro that Overwatch 2 is "very much real" and that it will be announced at BlizzCon, which is quite peculiar for more than one reason. Nintendo Switch only just got the game, so it would seem uncharacteristic for the dev to rush the gun, but we won't have to wait too long to find out - BlizzCon kicks off on 1 November 2019.
