Ubisoft shut down numerous projects but it appears Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still on track.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was initially teased in 2008, meaning we are almost at a point where the game didn't get released 15 years later.
Normally, such a project would just be assumed to be dead but Ubisoft insists they are still working even though they cancelled a pile of other games due to financial strain.
While we are on the topic of games that are taking too long to launch, Skull and Bones has also been delayed.
With that type of environment at the company, it was only natural questions about the game's existence would pop up and they did. In a conversation with Eurogamer , a Ubisoft rep simply noted "Beyond Good and Evil 2's development is underway and the team is hard at work to deliver on its ambitious promise".
Granted, this just looks like a generic PR response but at least there is confirmation there is some sort of work being done on the game.
Will it ever get released though? It's really hard to tell, especially if something this ambitious doesn't adhere to Ubisoft's recycled and formulaic standards.
