Ubisoft have rolled out two Asssassin's Creed Odyssey trailers, one for each of the game's protagonists and although Kassandra's and Alexios' trailers are identical for the most part, they do seem to hint at slight in-game differences.
From what I've seen, and I actually simultaneously played them on separate screens to better spot anything out of the ordinary, the only difference worth noting in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's new trailers can be found at about 0:35.
If you skip to that part, you'll see Alexios fighting a bull and a wolf, while Kassandra's version of the trailer has her fighting a bear and a lion. Other than that though, both Assassin's Creed: Odyssey trailers are just about the same, with occasional flashes of Kassandra or Alexios in action. We've included both trailers just in case.
The trailers also show large scale land battles, courtesy of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's War System that dictates each faction's influence over in-game regions. Naval battles are back as well, with the Aegean Sea becoming just one of the battlegrounds in Ubisoft's fictionalised version of the conflict between Sparta and Athens.
At one point, the trailers show Medusa, the fabled creature whose gaze turns men to stone. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey gave her a few more perks than you can find in the original myth though, letting her spawn stone soldiers. Seems about right - Ubisoft could probably teach her how to produce slight variations of the same cold construct ad infinitum.
When it comes to combat, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has borrowed the best parts of the Origins' combat and took it to the next level. Most players and reviewers who gave it a go at Gamescom 2018 seem to agree that Ubisoft nailed it, for whatever it's worth.
Apparently, turtling is a thing of the past because unlike in Origins, Kassandra and Alexios don't have any shields. Timing your dodges therefore becomes essential, making combat a more difficult and, in turn, a more satisfying affair.
