Respawn have rolled out the (already traditional) gameplay trailer ahead of Season 7: Ascension, teasing all the new additions Apex Legends players can expect.

We're saying traditional because the gameplay trailer has traditionally followed seasonal presentation trailers, and while it's not exactly a lavish gameplay presentation, it's enough to pique the interests of Apex Legends players.

Anyway, the Season 7: Ascension trailer is pretty heavy on all the novelties coming in Apex Legends' new season, starting with Horizon, Respawn's new legend. Her accent is definitely a welcome addition, and we could listen to it all day, let alone the two and a half minutes of the trailer's running time.

Described as "a brilliant astrophysicist who escaped a black hole and aims to use her newfound mastery of gravity to keep a promise", Horizon's backstory is undoubtedly an interesting one. Apex Legends' new character has some killer quips too, and the gameplay trailer even teases her finisher at 2:22, which looks pretty great. Well, unless you're on the receiving end of it I suppose.

It's not an accident that Horizon feels right at home at Olympus, Apex Legends' new map, which is an integral part of her backstory. In case you didn't catch it, we'll include Stories from the Outlands: Promise, so you can get yourself up to speed before Season 7: Ascension launches on November 4, 2020.

Season 7: Ascension gameplay trailer also shows off the game's first vehicle, the Trident, and it looks like an even bigger bundle of fun than we expected. We're saying that purely on the basis of Rampart and Sheila, who seem to be having a lot of fun blasting legends in an Apex driveby.
